More than a space, we are a community.

Why membership?

Venue hire is often transactional in nature. While we value a seamless exchange in the lead-up to your event, we find there is more value in building relationship that leads to meaningful conversation and collaboration between organisations and ultimately an opportunity to solve big complex problems together. A membership with The Platform comes with a powerful, like-minded community.

As such, member organisations gain access to the full suite of facilities at The Platform for your calendar of events, meetings and workshops, along with a broad network of engaged changemakers.

This is our way of getting to know you and your organisation, and for you to get to know us. We will also walk you through the many ways in which you can use our space.

Environment Care

  • This involves efforts to protect and preserve the environment for current and future generations. This may include conservation efforts, sustainable energy practices, and reducing waste.

  • This refers to modern-day slavery, human trafficking, and other forms of exploitation. Efforts to combat this issue involve education, awareness campaigns, support for victims and adopting safe and sustainable practices across their value chain.

Human Exploitation

Poverty Alleviation

  • This refers to efforts aimed at reducing or eliminating poverty through various means such as access to education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and basic necessities like food, water and shelter.

Uluru, or Ayers Rock, is a massive sandstone monolith in the heart of the Northern Territory’s arid "Red Centre"
  • This refers to initiatives that support and empower Indigenous communities, including land and resource rights, cultural preservation, employment parity and access to education and healthcare.

Health and Mental Health

  • This includes initiatives aimed at improving access to healthcare and mental health services, as well as addressing the social determinants of health such as poverty and social exclusion.

  • This includes young people who are vulnerable to negative influences such as drugs, crime, and gang activities. Efforts to address this issue involve providing safe and supportive environments, mentorship programs, and access to education and job training.

  • We accept bookings made by organisations, not for personal use (birthdays, etc) at our standard rate.

    Your event will need to broadly align with our six focus areas of change.

    Membership, however, is for non-profits, social enterprises, and small businesses who do work within our six focus areas.

  • Our six focus areas are:

    • Environmental Care

    • Poverty Alleviation

    • Human Exploitation

    • Indigenous Rights

    • Youth at Risk

    • Health and Mental Heath

  • The very first step to becoming a member is to book and attend an Open House Tour.

    Having done that, please put through a membership application form that can be found here.

    Applications will be assessed for cultural fit and alignment with our six causes. There is a one to two-week turnaround on new applications.

  • Anyone is welcome to come for our Open House tours! They run for 45 minutes, and include an in-depth tour of the facilities here at The Platform.

    There will be a meet and greet session for us to get to know your organisation better, and for you to find out more about the vision and here mission of The Platform too.

    It is also a chance for attendees to meet and learn about other organisations in the room. To book for an Open House Tour, click here.

  • The Platform membership is for NFPs, social enterprises and small businesses who address one of the following 6 focus areas:

    1. Human exploitation

    2. Indigenous disadvantage

    3. Poverty

    4. Health/mental health

    5. Youth at risk

    6. Environment Care

  • Social enterprises are purpose-driven businesses set up and focused on addressing a social problem or improving the environment. It does this by using its core business or its business operations to directly create the change; or by using its profits to fulfil its social or environmental objectives.

  • Members pay an annual membership fee that comes with a range of benefits. These fees go towards the daily running of the space.

    There are also fees for booking the event space and meeting rooms at the member rate (50% off!). Enquire within to find out more.

  • When booking the entire space, The Platform can host up to 150 people standing (cocktail style) or 120 people seated (theatre style). Keep in mind that the number goes down as more furniture, such as tables, are added. We can supply chairs at no additional cost.

  • The Platform can provide the following items:

    • PA system with digital mixer (Main event space)

    • 3x wireless microphones (Main event space)

    • 2x projectors (Main event space and Jarrah room)

    • 2x Apple TVs for wireless projection (Main event space and Banksia room)

    • 1x mobile TV (Marri room)
